Internal Medicine or General Medicine deals with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of adult diseases. The internists (physicians specializing in internal medicine) are skilled in managing patients who are suffering from undifferentiated or multi-system disease processes.

It is a mother specialty as it takes care of hospitalized and ambulatory patients and provides medical cover to all surgical and other sub-specialties with a broader vision and expertise.

The department is manned by physicians with expertise in advanced care with the support of the hospital infrastructure including intensive care unit with state of the art monitoring equipment and technology, Bronchoscopy, Endoscopy, a 24 x 7 support of Radiology, high- end imaging facilities, modern Laboratory, a 24 x 7 operational Blood Bank, a Dialysis unit and an Emergency unit. The aim is to provide long-term comprehensive holistic care and manage both common and complex illnesses. It has round the clock back up from allied departments like Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Nephrology and Psychiatry.
